I've only had the opportunity to spend a short amount of time here. But it is truly, despite its name, a beautiful place.

An unforgiving landscape Death Valley shows beauty even as things have passed from living.
I\'m always amazed at this place... rocks that move!
The salt flats at Bad Water in Death Valley are 40 miles long and about 5 miles wide. 200+ plus feet below sea level and one of the more surreal places I\'ve been.
The race track is not something you can truly believe until you lay eyes on it for yourself. Over time, wind and the small amount of rain that falls here have provided a surface that finds these rocks wandering across a high desert playa. Featured on Earthshots.org as the photo of the day.

This place amazes me every time I visit. Watching the day break across the horizon. The sun\'s rays hit the valley floor and race across the playa, really is an event that leaves you speechless.
Two stones race out into the world on streets of gold.
These dunes rise off the valley floor to a height of around 700 feet. I was fortunate to spend a day exploring around and on the dunes. Next time it\'ll have to be much longer.
Shot from a few miles out as a sand storm began to rage on the far side of the dunes I thought this a great tilt shift opportunity.
Just after sundown the playa still glowed with reflected light off the clouds.
